A jewelry ad that I saw in the 2007 Feb issue of San Francisco Magazine, while in the waiting room at the dentist was the inspiration behind this photo shoot. It featured a model with a 1940's retro look that I enjoyed, so I wanted to replicate it.
Stefanie W. was the perfect model for this shoot because of the sharp angles of her face which resemble movie stars Katharine Hepburn of the 1940's and Audrey Hepburn of the 1950's, who by the way are not related.
Along with a compliment of a classic microphone, Stefanie brought her own beauty and talent to the project. We wanted it to look like she came right out of the glory days of Hollywood, and to capture the old life magazine cover girl celebrity look.
I think we nailed it.
